Our son Bryan, came in First place in Palm Beach County today in the Accounting portion of the FBLA Districts. Martyn and I are both so proud of him. I feel like I am going to bust a gut.

It puts all the current drama in my life in perspective, and reminds me of what is really important in life.

Ft. Myers Medieval Faire- In Lehigh Acres

I had a really nice time this past weekend at the Faire. The weather, other than being too cold and windy to be outside for an extended period of time on Saturday, was actually rather nice. I thought the faire was a nice size-not too big or too small, and had a good mix of performers.

Wyldefyre was well received, and I heard many a positive comment. Though I was only along for support, I must admit that I felt I added a little something to the last set when I requested "Health to the Company". It's really something to see how people turned their attention to the group and wandered over when they heard the song being performed. I guess others feel like me, that there is something missing when you go to a faire and don't get to sing and toast to "Health".

Wyldefyre's newest biggest fan, other than the Army Surplus guy (Vaughn) is Christoph the Insulter. The best part of the entire weekend was hearing him crack up during "Scolding Wife". He laughed louder and louder at each verse. Now when you can make Christoph laugh, that is really something. He sat through quite a few sets and really enjoyed the shows. Craig also made time to come to part of a show and complimented the the group later at the pub sing. He also asked Martyn to sing for him in the lanes, and sang for us as well. Craig has been invited back to the show next year, and if memory serves me right the following two years as well.

Though we did not get to hear the "Moose Song" I was so happy to be able to spend time with Kathleen, Bill, and Jim. She introducted me to Michelle, and I am now the proud owner of some of her handmade jewelry. I got to have dinner with a "Nun" who looks remarkedly like a photo of a lady in waiting in Renaissance Magazine as well as a handsome prince. I also re-met Merry Mischief, and spent a lot of time and money with Lady Barbara. And of course, I was able to spend time with Ginger Rose and Mstarfire, who I do not get to see near enough.

My presence has been requested again for the weekend forthcoming (you know who you are) and if I can find time to finish my school work, job and motherly duties, I will do my best to be there.

I just saw the forecast for this weekend for Ft. Myers/Lehigh Acres. The high for Saturday and Sunday is 66, the low is 39-40. Though the afternoons will be nice, the mornings will be quite chilly, especially for us Flor-idiots. Last year Martyn and I froze in the early morning and the late afternoon at the faire site.

3.Have you ever seriously vandalized someone else's property? No, but I did toilet paper a few houses in high school.

On my time off, other than the reading assignments I have for college, I want to read things that don’t make me have to think. I am however eagerly awaiting the next book from Dan Brown.
21. Have you ever ridden in a limo? Yes, the first time was for my grandmother’s funeral, but I sat in the jump seat and it didn’t really count. I have been in several limos in the past few years, including a Hummer Limo which was way cool.
22. Has anyone you were really close to passed away? My father, my grandmother and one of my best friends Clarisse who died way too early. She used to start my days with a phone call and I really miss her. Of course as most of you know my friends son David, who was only 21, just passed away.
23. Do you watch MTV? Yes, I have a teenage son!
24. What's something that really annoys you? When someone makes false accusations against me and questions my integrity. It just happened to me recently in my job and I am really pissed.
25. What's something you really like? Boy what can I say after Martyn’s answer. I think I will concentrate my answer on areas other than sex. I love travel-mostly cruises. As soon as I get back from one, I book another and dangle it like a carrot to get me through my day.
26. Do you like Michael Jackson? Up to the Billy Jean video. He has just enough surgery at that point and still looked like a human being. I just wish he’d restrict his sex life to adults, no matter what gender he prefers.
27. Can you dance? I used to love to dance, but sadly my other half doesn’t like to. The only time I get to dance now is when I stand up at a concert.
28. What's the latest you have ever stayed up? Three days. I don’t sleep well in strange places and in strange beds. (Cruise ships are an exception)
29.Have you ever been rushed by an ambulance into the emergency room? Yes-a couple times. None have been life threatening. The one time it was life threatening we didn’t realize it and Martyn drove me to the hospital.

David Cory

David passed away at 6:00 am today. I really want to thank all of you who lent your support. David was very special. He fought bravely for 14 years, and was and will continue to be an inspiration to many other children who are also diagnosed with brain tumors. Though he started and ended his life in South Florida, he spent most of his years in Sharon, MA. just outside Boston. He was the longest surviving pediatric brain tumor patient at Mass. General.

I have never posted before, but I can use all of your help to say prayers for David Cory Goldstein. He is the 21 year of son of a close friend of mine and Martyn Wylde and had been battling malignant brain tumors for 14 years. He is not doing well, and may be fighting his final battle. However, David has pulled out quite a few miracles over the years, and maybe this time will be no exception.

His mother, who has a very postive attitute is looking for all the spiritual help she can get. Though the family is Jewish, Brooke wears religious symbols from many different religions on her chest. She has asked to me put out the word to anyone who is willing to pray for David. Thanks.
